The rising costs of labor, materials and goods have led to lower profits and increased debt for many small business owners, leading many to consider whether bankruptcy may provide a solution. This program will provide a general overview of the bankruptcy process and general factors that small business owners may consider when deciding whether to file bankruptcy or pursue other avenues of managing business debt. The program will also cover strategies for small business owners to protect their personal income and assets from creditors of their business. Finally, the program will discuss what a small business may be able to do to protect its financial interests when a customer, vendor, partner or other business counterparty files bankruptcy or is not paying its debts.
