LIVE ZOOM: Legal Aid as Racial Justice Work
Wednesday, June 4, 2025: 12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
--- ZOOM INFORMATION WILL BE EMAILED TO REGISTRANTS PRIOR TO CLASS START TIME ---
This session will explore the intersection between legal services and racial justice. It will begin with a discussion of the role of racial justice in legal aid work historically and the evolution of that role, particularly during our recent period of racial reckoning and the ensuing attack on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. A panel of experts will then discuss how legal aid attorneys, law students, and pro bono attorneys can use the civil legal system to continue fighting to dismantle systemic racism.
Presented in collaboration with Mental Health Advocacy Services (MHAS)
