The Reference team can assist with your legal research.

LA Law Library has experienced and knowledgeable Reference Librarians to provide support as you research. Whether you are a first-time legal researcher or a practicing attorney, our librarians can guide you to the resources and information you need.

We recommend practice materials, locate hard-to-find information, assist in searching databases, advise on the use of AI tools, and suggest research strategies if you hit a dead-end.

Knowledgeable Librarians
  • Reference staff have a Masters in Library Science and other advanced degrees
  • All Reference Librarians have in-depth knowledge of legal research and how to locate legal information
  • All librarians have extensive experience with the collection and databases offered in the Library
Availability
  • Reference Librarians are available at the Reference Desk during regular library hours
  • In addition to assistance at the Reference Desk, questions can be answered by phone, email or live chat
