Infopeople Webinar: Family Law Basics for Public Libraries

Court findings show that as many as 70 percent of family law litigants in California are unrepresented. Library staff often get questions about common legal problems, like divorce, child custody, support and domestic violence.

Janine Liebert, Reference Librarian at LA Law Library overseeing library services for self-represented litigants, and Ana Storey, Managing Attorney of Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles' West Coast office, are hosting a FREE webinar on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 12 noon - 1 pm (PST) on how public librarians can connect people with family law legal information.

This webinar will help librarians and library staff to understand the California family law process, learn some key terms and explore reliable referral sources that will be helpful for customers.

Attendees will also learn about online resources that can be used as a starting point for responding to family law-related questions.
