BY TELEPHONE: Lawyers in the Library 2026

This program provides free 20-30 minute consultations with volunteer lawyers for people who have legal problems to discuss but do not have a lawyer representing them.  Consultations may be either in person or by telephone depending on the patron’s preference and the availability of lawyers with expertise on the requested topic.

**NOTICE - All patrons are limited to two consultations in a calendar year. A calendar year starts in January and ends in November. If you have already participated in two phone, two in-person or a singular phone/in-person consultation, you are eligible for a new consultation after January of the following year.**

**Due to high demand, phone consultations will not be available for Family Law through the remainder of 2026. Patrons are encouraged to attend the free Live Zoom Sessions for Ask-A-Lawyer: Family Law starting in June, watch the updated recording of Divorce & Separation: Where You Begin, and to contact the reference desk for assistance.
