The LA Law Library is a selective government depository for both the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) and State of California materials. We were designated as a GPO selective depository in 1963. We do not retain every title issued, but as a law library we maintain legal documents such as:
legislative bills- legislative committee hearings and reports
- legislative journals
- statutes
- administrative reports
Access to Depository Materials
It’s easy to view federal and state depository materials at the LA Law Library. The Depository Materials are available to everyone whenever the Library is open. These materials are available in a variety of formats including print, cd-rom, electronic, and microfiche
Finding Depository Materials
The Basic Federal Depository Collection of documents are vital sources of information that support the public's right to know about the workings of their Federal Government.
Additional depository materials that are a permanent part of the collection may be found by searching the LA Law Library's Online Catalog. Some of the less important GPO materials are merely listed in Superintendent of Documents Classification order.
