Tech innovator Mitch Kapor once wrote that “Getting information off the Internet is like taking a drink from a fire hydrant.” Technological advancement has enabled humanity to retain and process seemingly endless amounts of information, including legal information. In this class, learn how to use Lexis Advance, the new legal research platform available at LA Law Library, to make sense of the water pouring from the legal information “fire hydrant,” and start researching more effectively.

Presented by Terrance Allen:
Terrance Allen received his B.S. (Cum Laude) from Hampton University in flight education and his J.D. from Pepperdine University, School of Law. Terrance worked as an aviation law specialist and flight instructor for nine years before obtaining his Legal & Government Consultant position at LexisNexis. In his current role, Terrance monitors the legal industry to identify trends and potential future developments, consults with legal organization to discuss their challenges and needs, authors nationally used CLE materials for LexisNexis, and helps with the orientation of new attorneys and paralegals in general legal practices.
