Effective Pro Bono Representation: Understanding the Perspective of Low-income Clients and Strategies for Working with Challenging Clients

With the broader goal of ensuring access to justice for all clients, this training is designed to offer practical guidance to public interest and pro bono attorneys and law students in how to effectively work with clients with challenging behaviors or other difficulties that potentially create barriers to effective advocacy. The training will include discussion of “people-first” language, client-centered interviewing strategies and techniques for setting reasonable parameters and providing appropriate accommodations.

1-hour MCLE training for elimination of bias available for attorneys
