LA Law Library legal research specialists teach free, monthly 45-minute overviews of legal information search tools and techniques as part of regular “office hour” visits.*

This class is an introduction to using WestlawNext, Westlaw's newly designed legal research database that has been described as "ground breaking" and "Google for lawyers".

Class covers:

  • WestSearch: Westlaw's new search engine
  • Formulating search queries
  • Reviewing and filtering search results
  • Finding cases and code sections
  • Checking and updating citations using KeyCite

*A more extensive class, which may include hands-on practice and sample exercises, is taught at the Main branch of LA Law Library in downtown Los Angeles.
