In every court case, there is an important step called “discovery.” During discovery, both sides collect and exchange information about the case and prepare for trial. However, the discovery process is complicated, not always intuitive, and can be daunting to a self-represented litigant. In this class, learn how to navigate the discovery process and best position your case for trial.

• An overview of the types of discovery available to a civil litigant
• Initiating and responding to written discovery
• The preservation, collection and production of documents and other tangible items
• Noticing, taking and appearing for depositions
• Planning for the use of evidence at trial

Ms. Azlin is an experienced civil litigator in State and Federal courts and a partner at Holland & Knight.

Mr. Boardman is an associate at the firm and has also handled cases from inception through trial. Both attorneys are part of the firm’s West Coast Litigation Group.
