A major overhaul of California online privacy law takes effect January 1, 2020. AB 375, known as the California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA), gives new rights to consumers and places new requirements upon businesses. It will likely affect just about everyone in the state in some way – including attorneys who advise business clients, represent consumers, or do business online themselves.

Diana Iketani Iorlano is a privacy lawyer, litigator, and outside general counsel to companies ranging from start-ups to large corporations. She is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Iketani Law in El Segundo. Diana counsels clients on compliance with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other state and federal privacy laws. Prior to founding Iketani Law in 2018, she was a member of the litigation and privacy/data security practice groups at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and holds the CIPP/US, CIPP/E, and CIPM designations.
